Terms and Conditions for Bespoke Cake Orders

1. Booking Confirmation and Deposit:

  • A non-refundable deposit of [50%] is required to confirm your booking on orders over £250. Until the deposit is received, your cake order will not be reserved.
  • The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days prior to the event date. Failure to complete payment may result in the cancellation of your order.

2. Final Design Approval:

  • All design details must be finalized 7 days before the delivery/pick-up date. Any changes to the design after this time may incur additional charges or may not be feasible, depending on the complexity of the requested alterations.
  • While we strive to follow design requests precisely, some variations in design, color, or structure may occur due to the nature of the materials (e.g., fondant, icing) and artistic interpretation.
  • Images or designs provided as inspiration will be used as a guide. Exact replication may not always be possible due to design limitations, materials, and artistic differences.

3. Delivery and Pick-Up:

  • For delivery orders, please ensure that someone is available to receive the cake at the specified time and location. If no one is available, the cake will be returned to the bakery and a second delivery attempt may be arranged at an additional cost.
  • Once the cake has been collected or delivered, we are no longer responsible for any damage incurred during transport or handling by the client.
  • Cakes should be transported on a flat surface and kept cool to prevent damage. We recommend placing the cake in a cool environment until the event.

4. Cake Storage and Consumption:

  • We recommend storing cakes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Buttercream and fondant cakes should be stored at room temperature. Fresh fruit or cream-based cakes may require refrigeration.
  • Cakes are best consumed within 24 hours of the event for optimal taste and freshness.

5. Allergies and Dietary Requirements:

  • We take all dietary requirements seriously and will do our best to accommodate your requests (e.g., gluten-free, nut-free, vegan). However, please note that all cakes are produced in a kitchen that handles allergens such as gluten, dairy, eggs, and nuts.
  • While every effort is made to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that cakes will be 100% allergen-free. Customers are responsible for informing guests of any allergen risks.
  • We recommend that customers with severe allergies avoid ordering.

6. Cancellations and Refunds:

  • Cancellations must be made in writing at least 7 days before the event. The deposit is non-refundable, but partial refunds of additional payments may be considered depending on the timing of the cancellation subject to our discretion.
  • For orders canceled within 7 days of the event, no refunds will be issued due to the preparation time and materials already allocated to the order.
  • In the rare case that we are unable to fulfill your order due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, equipment failure), we will provide a full refund or assist in arranging an alternative solution.

7. Cake Design and Artistic License:

  • We reserve the right to exercise artistic license when determining the best way to present the cake. This includes, but is not limited to, slight variations in colors, shapes, and design elements.
  • Some designs may require structural or design adjustments to ensure stability and quality, especially for multi-tier cakes or complex decorations. We will inform you of any necessary adjustments prior to finalizing the order.

8. Photos and Marketing:

  • We reserve the right to take photographs of your cake for promotional purposes, including use on our website, social media platforms and training purposes.
  • If you do not wish for your cake to be photographed or shared, please inform us in writing before the event.

9. Liability and Disclaimers:

  • We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after it has been delivered or picked up, including mishandling, improper storage, or transportation.
  • Any requests for changes to the cake design after delivery are not our responsibility.
  • Our cakes may contain non-edible decorations such as wires, supports, or toppers. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure these are removed before serving.

10. Force Majeure:

  • We are not liable for failure to fulfill your order due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, and other emergencies.

By submitting the bespoke cake order form and paying your deposit, you agree to the above terms and conditions.
